The program philosophy of Colorado Youth for a Change revolves around giving youth opportunities for greater voice, choice and access in their education. CYC staff work with youth on a case by case basis to help them become advocates for their own educations.
Mission
The mission of Colorado Youth for a Change is to solve the dropout crisis in Colorado. By incorporating national research and local data analysis, CYC is charting a path to fulfill the Governor's challenge of cutting the dropout rate in half in Colorado by 2017. CYC works collaboratively with school districts throughout the state of Colorado to create dropout outreach and recovery programs to bring high school dropouts back to school, dropout intervention programs to prevent high schoolers from dropping out, and new school programs that fit the needs of out-of- school youth.
