GTRI Awarded $108 Million Multi-Year Cisco SMARTnet Proposal from the Department of Veterans Affairs

Denver, CO – July 16, 2010 – Global Technology Resources, Inc., a leading technology consulting provider, announced today that it has been awarded a $108 Million Multi-Year Cisco SMARTnet Consolidated Proposal from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The VA had several hundred Cisco SMARTnet contracts that were locally managed by the VA. This method became too cumbersome and a national consolidation effort was executed. GTRI will save the VA over $25 Million over the next five years of support coverage. 

GTRI was selected as the incumbent in part because of its development of ONEPortal, an online portal designed specifically for the contract to make moves, adds and changes easier to manage, as well as provide useful information for lifecycle management.  The VA also required Cisco Services for Unified Communications, Wireless, Security, and Data Center Optimization to be bundled with Cisco SMARTnet in order to provide the VA with additional support.
