GTRI and the DOI’s Minerals Management Service entered into a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) in 2005, and have updated it in 2008 to provide Cisco and HP network solutions to MMS nationwide. The agreement provides MMS with Cisco and HP equipment components, hardware and software maintenance, and telecommunications support and other non-personal services on a delivery order basis.
MMS is a bureau in the Dept. of Interior, and manages the nation’s natural gas, oil and other mineral resources on the outer continental shelf (OCS). MMS is also responsible for the collection, accounting, and disbursement of all revenue from Federal, state and Indian mineral leases. Supporting their mission are multiple interrelated IT systems, requiring specialized expertise for data and telecommunication infrastructure.
